Jesse (Swiss) Fallentine
Jessie, better known as “Swiss,” has been guiding on the Colorado Plateau since 1999. Fresh out of college in Virginia, she discovered her passion for the river and its plants as a Student Conservation Association summer intern in Dinosaur National Monument. Her progression to river guiding on the Green, the Yampa and the Colorado Rivers continued to feed this passion. As all good things seem to make it downstream so did Swiss, who eventually found her way to the Grand Canyon. Here she makes her summer home floating on the river and striving to instill in her passengers an understanding of how precious river resources have become. In the off season, you can find her nesting in Salt Lake City with her husband and fellow river rat, Dusty, and skiing tons of fresh powder at Alta.
